When parts break they are expensive to replace. The bearing in my supercharger belt tensioner pulley is going out, and it doesn't look like you can just press out the old bearing and press in a new one. A new pulley is pretty expensive and there are only 6 left in the US. Weak. I suppose that's what I get for DD'ing a car with an engine that was only in this country for two years in one model.

A buddy of mine had a Saabaru. It was awesome right up until some lady in a minivan hydroplaned into him and spun him into a wall on the interstate. He was fine, the car wasn't.

Damn, glad to hear he was okay and always happy to hear our stuff did it's job (I work at the safety supplier who made most of the safety equipment in the car).

The MR2 is a great car though, my buddy has a Gen3 and I've always loved them. I just wish I fit in any of them, they were in no way designed for taller people.

My friend is 6'2" and drives a 91 turbo with no issues. They really do have way more space inside than people think. Plus, the steering wheel adjusts so you can avoid hitting your knees (something Miata and S2000 guys can't avoid)

I guess I was swayed too heavily by the 3rd gen. That is not fitting anyone at or over 6' even. The 1st and 2nd gen have always been my favorites anyways. I will say the extra 2-3" from 6'2" to just under 6'5" causes more annoyance when it comes to cars than I'd care to mention ha.

Being a really tall car guy, particularly one into JDM-ness is not a fun combo ha.

still, you should be able to press the bearing out, i mean come on, they had to have put it in there somehow. find somebody that's a persevering bastard and get to it. what's the worst case scenario, u still need to order a new one?

I have one on order now. When it comes in I'll do what I can with the bad one. If I end up destroying it, oh well.

88-89 in the US and I believe 87-89 in Japan. I don't think any other countries got them.

Time to get out some vernier calipers and do some measurements..so at least you know what they are if you have to go through a parts catalog.

Luckily I work at a Toyota dealership so I have easy and cheaper access to OEM parts.
